asked me to do his 54MUR41 character Hiroshi, seen here, as part of the 10 Free Sketches. Hiroshi is of Spanish descent, but was raised in Japan and trained in the art of ninjitsu until he decided their methods were less than "honorable" and left to learn the way of the samurai. The idea of the guitar actually working as the sheath for a sword was pretty cool so I tried to do it justice. I used several references, making the the instrument specifically a Spanish guitar and the pose from an Iaido style stance. And yes, he is Roman Catholic. Although (and I slap myself as I say this for being a buzz-kill), the concept of the guitar-sheath samurai sword was already used in the classic post-apocalyptic kung-fu movie 'Six-String Samurai'. Incidentally, check that movie out if you get the chance, it's awesome.
Oh, and the protagonist is pursued across the Nevada desert by a heavy-metal playing avatar of the Grim reaper, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Slash, top hat and all.
