The Four Horsemen -assembled- by silentsketcher The Four Horsemen -assembled- by silentsketcher
Well, I finally got around to assembling the scanned bits and touching it up in Photoshop. So here we have the Four Horsemen of the Book of Revelation. Normally I'd go on and on about all the details and thoughts behind a piece like this, but I'll save that for my "artist's statement". I have to write something of a short essay about this illustration for The League of Sequential Storytellers so after I've finished typing it up I'll be sure to post it. Eventually I plan on putting some color pencil to this, but in the meantime it stands well enough on its own as a black-and-white piece. Heck, if anyone wanted to try putting their coloring skills to this by all means just ask. Anyway, I put a lot of thought and time into this drawing so I'd like to get lots of feedback! I'm very interested in what your thoughts are about this piece.

Oh wow...that's amazing. Seriously, great job. Is the first horsemen's armor a reference to the beast power?

A lot of the inspiration to the design of his outfit came from the description of the beast from the sea. If you like, you can read more about it here: [link] . Normally I can put most of what I want to say about a piece in the artist's comments, but there was enough I felt that I should submit a writing about it.

Hmmm, I wrote the dates down somewhere, but I don't have them at hand. As I recall, I worked on it for a number of days here and there for a few hours each. So it took quite a bit of time.

Looks even better as a whole! You should have it printed up as a poster or something. I'd try coloring it, but I'd be afraid I'd ruin it. ^^; Just wanted to say good job again.
