man and wolf study by silentsketcher man and wolf study by silentsketcher
With my character Cu Sidhe, [link] I hadn't drawn any transformations of him yet, so I figured I should do a few studies. It's not going to be just from man to wolf or to wolf-man, but I thought I should start with the basics. Remember he's not a werewolf, he's this phantom dog of sorts, so there are going to be some strange transformations. Think along the lines of Alucard from 'Hellsing'. Anyway, expect some interesting concepts.

Yeah, I like reading up on mythology as a hobby. But I'm not familiar with the Cwn Awann. What's that?

Yeah, you'd think. The transformations always seemed to look rather painful, though. Especially in 'Underworld'.

im not to familiar with the character - like i dont know if he transforms at will or is plagued to turn into a werewolf when the moon is full but i feel like although the transformations look cool, its too delicate. it seems like the transformation is really calm and doesnt really give me that horror vibe i think it should.

i know what the irish dude looks like and he looks like he loves to drink guinness and could take a few punches in the face. so, i think he could handle a really painful transformation. maybe horrific mutations are a little more my bag but, i think you could amp it up a bit still

anyway - dope as always

Yeah, thanks man. I appreciate the honesty. My style tends to be a little more delicate anyway, so that's probably why it came off as such. But I assure you, there are going to be some gnarly forms he'll be able to make. I just haven't drawn them yet.

word - you should check out the movie "an american werewolf in london" - its a little dated, but the jim henson team did all the werewolf changing special effects and they are gross as hell. as cute as the muppets are, take that and flip it to be horror disgusting. def. worth checking out, i think you might dig how nasty the werewolf transformations are. lots of horrific screaming and sweaty, matted hair

You know, I vaguely remember seeing it many years ago. All I remember was that I felt a bit disturbed after watching it. ... But I should watch it again sometime. :XD:
